At its heart, TEDxPortsmouth is about stories — stories of lives lived, and lessons learned. Stories of technology and innovation, of personal connection and humanity. Stories of revelation and discovery, of hardship and of happiness. Told to us by our neighbors, friends and colleagues, the stories shared at TEDxPortsmouth are part of the strong and vibrant connection we feel on the Seacoast. For nearly a decade, TEDxPortsmouth has served as a special moment in time — a day when we pause our daily routine, to gather to listen to those stories, and to be inspired.

Your voices, your stories and the way they connect us as a community are so important — perhaps now more than ever.

We at TEDxPortsmouth, like all of you, are closely monitoring the latest news about the COVID-19 situation. We have every hope that by the scheduled date of TEDxPortsmouth — Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 — the show will indeed go on. In the weeks and months ahead, we’ll be following local, state and federal guidelines and will adjust our plans accordingly.

For now, we continue to seek audition applications, which are done completely online. If you’ve got a great idea worth sharing, be sure to visit tedxportsmouth.com/nominate-speaker/ to fill out the audition application. While we had planned for in-person auditions to be held in mid-April, we are currently working on a plan for online/virtual auditions and will share the information as it becomes available.

Our hope is that with the measures being taken now to ‘flatten the curve’ we’ll be able to gather in that spirit on Friday, Sept. 25 at The Music Hall in Portsmouth. We look forward to coming together as a community when it is safe and enjoyable to do so.
