We’re excited to introduce a brand new TEDxPortsmouth feature: Ideas in Action. Each year, we’ll spotlight a past speaker who turned their talk into action in their own powerful way.
We’re thrilled to announce this year’s honoree is Jennifer Moore! In her 2023 talk, The Future of Fashion is Secondhand, Jennifer challenged us to reckon with the environmental and ethical toll of fast fashion and made a compelling case for why second-hand and resale aren’t just the right thing to do, but also a massive opportunity for businesses. Her message was simple and powerful: start thinking “second-hand first.” And she hasn’t stopped saying it since. At this year’s show, we’ll see Jennifer put her ideas into action with a live fashion show on stage, partnering with eight local second-hand shops to showcase jaw-dropping fashion with a sustainable twist!
