In an age of screens, scrolling, and digital overload, what if the simple act of reading to a child is still one of our most powerful tools for connection? In this heartfelt live performance, retired educator, lifelong storyteller and children’s book author, Dane Peters, shares how reading aloud to children fosters focus, empathy, and trust—especially in a world increasingly dominated by technology and anxiety.

For over 50 years, Dane has brought characters to life through voices, expression, and joy. Now, in his retirement, he still reads weekly to children at two schools and reaches countless others through recorded story time videos. A former head of school and founder of Dane’s Education Blog, Dane has devoted his life to helping children feel seen, safe, and curious.
